Raffy Tima Reacted To “Catcalling” Of President-elect Duterte To His Wife Mariz Umali
GMA News anchor/reporter Raffy Tima can’t prevent himself to react on ‘catcalling’ or whistling of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte to his wife and fellow reporter, Mariz Umali.
According to the report, Duterte belted out instead of answering the question of Mariz in presscon held in Davao City last May 31.
On June 1, Raffy became vocal on Facebook that he did not like what happened.
In his post, he included the photo of Duterte and his wife questioning in the presscon.
In the introduction stating, “Catcalling My Wife Is Wrong In So Many Levels.”
According to the news reporter, he already expected that from a president and knows his reputation well enough not to be shocked, however, what he did does not make it right.
“For someone who espouses leadership by example, catcalling anyone in a press conference with all cameras trained on him defies logic. Then again, that’s Mayor Duterte”, he said.
Apparently, Raffy feel dismayed with people in the venue tolerating the bad behavior of Duterte.
GMA News reporter said, “What appalled me even more was how some people in the room reacted.”
Most people laughed while others made a teasing noise that urged the Mayor to dish, and moreover, he did.
The news reporter is hoping that none of them were journalists because if they did, it would be a shame for them.
“When you see or hear anyone say something wrong, you do not encourage it, you do the opposite. Or in that particular instance at least, they should have kept quiet and in their silence gave the message that what the mayor did was wrong,” said by the reporter.
In the report of PEP, he also stated that jokes are funny but disrespecting women is totally not a joke.
In the video below uploaded on Youtube, it clearly shows the whistling and singing of President Duterte when Mariz questioned him in presscon on May 31.
During the interview of Mariz in State of the Nation of GMA News TV Channel 11, she said, she felt awkwardness to the action of President-elect Duterte.
