Is Ritz Azul the next Darna?

Former TV5 talent now Kapamilya star Ritz Azul is currently being rumored to portray the role of next Darna.

Angel Locsin was supposed to star in the upcoming Star Cinema movie but due to a spine injury following a disc bulge in her spine, she cannot bring life Darna once again.

The reported injury prevents the Pilipinas Got Talent judge upon playing the titular komiks superheroine which she top-billed on Kapuso Network.

Aside from Ritz Azul, homegrown artists of ABS-CBN including Nadine Lustre, Liza Soberano and Jessy Mendiola have been rumored to star in the project. However, there has been no official announcement yet.

Unknown source of broadsheet The Philippine Star, described Ritz Azul as the “most likely” celebrity to portray Darna.

An article published by the Philippine Entertainment Portal noted that the 22-year-old actress is reportedly “undergoing thorough training”.

Over a month ago, the former Kapatid star took to image-sharing site, Instagram where she posted a photo of herself wearing boxing gloves. The photo is accompanied by the following caption: “Missed this. preparing myself for the big fight. Chos!”

Just recently, the FHM’s November 2012 cover girl was introduced as the leading lady of Paulo Avelino and Ejay Falcon in the newest Kapamilya series, “Promise of Forever”.
