SOCIAL MEDIA POST – Rappler has recently posted clarifying its side on the alleged ongoing ‘disinformation campaign’ on other Facebook pages dragging one of its story on the center.
Rappler has recently posted on its Facebook page ten photos of other Facebook pages that have used one its 2015 story. It was mentioned in the caption that the 2015 story was used without the context.
It expressed dislike on the alleged ‘disinformation campaign’ that is becoming widespread. It stressed that it does not only uses its name but as well as the names of the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Sen. Leila De Lima.
Further, Rappler also attached on its caption the link that directs to the 2015 news story which the headline, ‘Will Leila De Lima be Senate’s Next Miriam Santiago?’, was used in the alleged ‘disinformation campaign’.
Many netizens also shared their comments on the action taken by Rappler to stop the alleged ‘disinformation campaign’.
Facebook user El Maestro commented that ‘Rappler has been doing a good job of relaying news…If you think headlines are not good then le [let] us categorize that into artistry.’
Amiel Espina Sabater shared her personal encounter on the issue as he commented, ‘Nakita ko rin yan kanina na nakapost ng walang context. Nagulat din ako, kaya tinignan ko agad sa Twitter yung tweet at binasa yung article.’
