The Golden State Warriors has set a new NBA record by winning their 73rd win against the Memphis Grizzlies. This breaks the record done by the ’95-96 Chicago Bulls ending their season 72-9.
Not only that the Warriors broke the record, they’ve done it in a stellar fashion. The Warriors ended the 2015-2016 season, 73-9 scoring 125-104 against the Grizzlies.
Led by the MVP, Stephen Curry poured in 46 points also making another history of his own by setting the 400 mark for 3-point shots made in a season.
“It’s a great way to finish off what was an amazing regular season,” said GSW coach, Steve Kerr as quoted in The Guardian.
Kerr also said in a statement quoted in GMA News Online that doesn’t think the record they’ve set can be broken since a team needs to end the season with 74-8. He also said to the fans to not “expect” the Warriors could surpass their own record next season.
“I just told our guys I never in a million years would have guessed that that record would ever be broken,” said Kerr who has been a member of the Bulls.
Steve Kerr said that they will be focusing on the post-season to defend their crown.
The Golden State Warriors are the 2014-2015 NBA Champions after winning against the Cavaliers led by Lebron James.
First, they need to go through the Western Conferences Playoffs. They will face the Rockets in the first round.
