Wife Defends Matt Evans From Allegations Of Abuse
KATRINA FARINAS DEFENDS EVANS– The non-showbiz wife of Matt Evans defended her husband against allegations of physical abuse.
Evans was arrested on Friday, July 31 while at his house in Sampaloc, Manila for alleged physical abuse. This was the same charge filed against the actor back in 2012 by his then live-in girlfriend, Johnelline Hickins.
Following this, Evans’ wife took to Instagram to defend her husband. In her posts, she wrote:
“Sa lahat na nakakakilala talaga kay Matt, alam na hindi totoo ang bali-balita. Hindi lahat ng nababasa o napapanood ay totoo. Sadyang may mga tao lang talagang hindi makuntento.“
Additionally, Katrina emphasized that the last his husband and Hickins met was in 2012. Thus, speculations rose as the actor was arrested after eight long years.
Hayden, Katrina’s son from a previous relationship also went online to defend his stepfather. In his Instagram post, he wrote:
“This is my dad. I love my dad. He is my hero. My dad is a good person. Do you know the real story? NO. What you see on social media isn’t always real. Don’t believe everything you see or read on social media. I love you, daddy! @matt3vans “
According to a report from GMA, the bail for the temporary release of Evans was fixed as P36,000. However, information regarding the complaint wasn’t put in the Manila Police District (MPD) report.
The MPD said the actor violated Republic Act 9262 or Anti- Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004. In Pasig City on October 2012, Evans was also arrested for the same violation.
