will.i.am, the frontman of Black Eyed Peas, posted on his social media account to call out a “racist” flight attendant after an incident on a Qantas flight on Saturday.
“I’m currently on a flight from Brisbane to Sydney. I’m sorry to say me and my group have experienced their worse service due to an overly aggressive flight attendant,” he posted on his Twitter account. “I don’t want to believe she racist. But she has clearly aimed all her frustrations only at the people of color.”
will.i.am continued posting on his Twitter account by sharing a photo of a police officer.
“This is how you’re greeted when you land from Brisbane to Sydney flying @qantas with a #RacistFlightattendant named Lorraine Marshall,” he added. “She sent the police after me because I couldn’t hear the P.A while making beats on the plane wearing noise-canceling headphones.“
A netizen who claimed to be a passenger on the said flight supported will.i.am on his tweet. “Me too I was on the flight and I was hiding in the toilet shivering, shaking and shuddering uncontrollably while this horrendous racist attack was unfolding,” a netizen tweeted.
Following will.i.am’s post, he noticed that the said flight attendant was being subjected to cyberbullying. He posted a screenshot from a netizen who posted an abusive comment on his Twitter account.
Qantas Airlines released a statement in response to an incident.
“There was a misunderstanding on board, which seems to have been exacerbated by will.i.am wearing noise-canceling headphones and not being able to hear instructions from the crew,” the airline said in a statement. “We’ll be following up with will.i.am and wish him well for the rest of the tour.“
