Youngest Mother in the Philippines
If you are an avid fan of this website, then probably you have seen/read our recent article talking about the Youngest Mother in Medical History, Lina Medina from Ticapro Peru, and guess what… she is just 5 years old when she gave birth to a 2.7 kg baby boy named Gerardo.
Now, we will tackle about the Youngest mother in Philippine history. Let us call her Camille (not her real name), and as expected, she is a victim of evility of a one’s mind. At an early age, she was tied to an early obligation of being a mother. R4p3d at the age of 8, got pregnant at 9 and gave birth when she was 10 years old. Now she is 16 years old.
She is one of the youngest mothers in recorded Philippine History, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
Is the father of her own child is her own father? Is she a victim of incest?
“Nung nalaman nila, tinanong ako ni Mama, ‘Alam mo bang mali ang ginawa niya?’ Sabi ko, ‘Hindi.’”??, Camille said.
If you still can remember, her story was the subject of the documentary “Ang Pinakabata,” produced for the weekly GMA News TV documentary program “Front Row.”
After admitting his crime, her father surrendered to the authorities. When her father was incarcerated, that was the moment when Camille understand what happened to her. She says her father was usually drunk when he molested her.
Camille was so very worried, especially to her monther’s reaction after finding out the incident.“Si Mama kasi, as in, love na love niya si Papa.
Corazon, Camille’s mother, says that she was out of work when the incident happened.
During that day, Corazon worked as a laundry woman, her husband is the one responsible to take care of their children. And when she got home at night, both her husband and children would all be asleep.
She has since forgiven her husband and insists that he is a good man. She says unemployment caused his depression at the time.
Corazon also admitted that she was torn between wanting justice for her daughter and wanting to keep her husband. “Hindi ko po alam. Siyempre may batas.
After a long deliberation, Camille decided to put up her child for adoption. She says she wants her child to have a clean slate—a shot at a different future.
