Without the knowing of many people, there are so many Filipino inventions and inventors that are being recognized not only in the Philippines but the whole world.

For example, the banana catsup. Yes, Filipino food technologist, Maria Orosa y Ylagan have created the first-ever recipe for banana catsup. Now, banana catsup has been in homes of millions of people all over the world.

She also received the Elizabeth Blackwell Award for her “outstanding service to mankind.”

A Filipino inventor named Diosdado Banatao developed the first-ever single-chip graphical user interface accelerator that made the computers work a lot faster. His invention made it possible for the users to use graphical commands and not typed commands.

Filipino inventor Rolando Dela Cruz won the gold medal for his “DeBCC” anti-cancer cream at the International Inventor’s Forum in November of 2005. His work came from cashew nuts and other local herbs. Chosen from over 1,500 entries, it has been chosen as “most significant invention” of the year. The said cream was intended for basal skin carcinoma (BSC).
