Poland Has Upcoming Musical For St John Paul II

Poland has an upcoming musical set to create about the late pope’s life story, Saint John Paul II.

Poland is one of the countries who are highly inspired by St. John Paul II, and locals are very much excited for the musical tribute entitled “Karol”.

The musical group is bringing John Paul II into life through their most-anticipated musical, and one of the people who are making it possible is, Michal Kaczmarczyk.

“We are trying to create something big”, the show’s writer said.

“We will tell his whole life story, from his infancy until his d3ath”.

Kaczmarczyk, the 35 year-old musician adored the pope very much, like many Polish do.

He was present during the saint’s bur1al, queuing for 15 hours just to see and bow at his coffin in 2005, Rome.

The said musical writer is to team up with Filip Siejka, the Poland’s hit-maker.

The two is going to revisit the saint’s life, from his boyhood up to being the head of the Roman Catholic Church.

Did you know? John Paul II is the first non-Italian head of the Church in 4 centuries! He was a very strong human rights advocate and source of strength of the deprived ones, being the catalyst in the fall of communism.

Premiere of the musical, “Karol”, will be on February 2017 at the Tauron Arena, Karow – Poland’s 2nd city.

It is expected that “Karol” will be a great hit, given that 90% of the locals are Roman Catholics.

There were 500 tickets have been sold already, according to reports.

The musical, will be played by 15 actors, having the main roles – where a teenage Karol version will be present.

Together with dancers, back-up dancers, singers, and extras, the cast reaches to almost 100.

On the other hand, Edyta Geppert, the Polish pop diva, will performing several of her own songs – that will give pop-rock feeling and ballads.

One of the included scenes of the musical is when one Italian priest, trying hard to attempt to speak in Polish asked, “How is the pope?”, but turned out to be, “How’s the little dog?”.

The saint has popularly been known to have an high sense of humor and the lucky person to play his character is non other than Jacek Kawalec, a popular Polish actor and TV personality.
