Lorenzana’s absolute authority will enable the AFP to have all the necessary military equipment they need to strengthen their troops and guard the country better.
President Rodrigo Roa Duterte assured the Armed Forces of the Philippines that his administration will provide them all the military equipment they need to protect the country, especially now that the chief of the Defense Department holds an absolute authority.
In his speech during his visit to the 5th Infantry Division Philippine Army at Camp Melchor dela Cruz in Upi, Gamu, Isabela, Pres. Duterte said that he has vested absolute authority to Sec. Delfin Lorenzana of the Department of National Defense (DND).
The absolute authority can be used by Sec. Lorenzana to buy all the military equipment that the soldiers need to better protect the Philippines from any security threat.
Duterte has mentioned about giving the presidential plane up and hand it to the AFP to be converted into an air ambulance to rescue the soldiers who incur wound or injuries in the course of war.
He said that even if there is a sole injured soldier, he shall be rescued right away by the air ambulance and be brought to a hospital to Metro Manila to be able to save his life.
