In a very rare instance, the President and the Ombudsman walk down the aisle in a wedding ceremony in Manila.
The highest official of the land and a higher official – the President and the Ombudsman – were like superstars as they walked down the aisle in a wedding rites on Friday.
The wedding of Waldo and Regine Carpio was held on San Agustin Church in Intramuros, Manila where President Rodrigo Duterte stood as one of the principal sponsors with Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales who, aside from being a principal sponsor, was a special guest of a relative.
Waldo is a brother of Manases “Man’s” Carpio who is the husband of the president’s daughter, Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio. The Carpio brothers are Ombudsman Morales’ nephews – their father is the Tanodbayan chief’s brother.
Duterte was seated beside business tycoon and San Miguel’s big boss Ramon Ang and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Sec. Silvestre Bello, who also stood as principal sponsors.
