Almost 10-K Aspirants Took PMA Entrance Examinations In 2016

The passers of the August 21, 2016 entrance examinations will be members of PMA Class of 2021.

Over nine thousand six hundred (9,600) aspirants took the entrance examination to be a part of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class of 2021 on August 21.

Lt. Col. Reynaldo Balido Jr., PMA-Public Information Officer, the examinees came from different parts of the country who took the examinations in 39 PMA testing centers.

The academy received 3,000 registrations through online application but they also accepted walk-in applications to arrive to that number.

Requirements for admission in the Philippine Military Academy are the following:
1. Natural-born Filipino citizen;
2. Minimum 5 feet for both male and female;
3. Physically fit and of good moral character;
4. Single and has never been married;
5. High school graduate. Those who graduated on or before 2015, prior to the implementation of K-12, are eligible to apply.
6. No administrative/criminal case, must pass the PMAEE, and should have been born from April 01, 1995 to April 01, 2000.

Last year’s examinees accounted to 12,000 where only ten percent or 1,200 passed.

Balido admitted that the K to 12 Program of the Department of Education (DepEd) grossly affected the number of examinees because there are no fresh high school graduates to apply which resulted to low number of applications submitted until the deadline.

The official added that the passers of the August 2016 examinations will undergo training and medical examination to arrive to the 350 cut-off.

The result is expected to come out on September or October this year.
