Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar insisted that President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is in the ‘pink of health’ despite his age of 72.
Although the President himself claimed, during his speech at the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) regional convention in Manila Hotel last Friday night, that people his age are sick, Secretary Andanar insisted that he is ‘fit and healthy’.
His declaration followed some people’s speculations that he has gone crazy after admitting publicly that his story about making a promise to God that he would stop cursing was all but a joke.

But Secretary Andanar said in a statement that “Malacanang (assures) the public that President Duterte is fit and healthy to perform his job as the Chief Executive”.
He also said that “President Duterte is not complaining of anything about his physical and mental condition”, adding that the Chief Executive was “stronger than a carabao” and said that his (Duterte’s) attendance to a hectic schedule despite his advanced age is an evidence.
