The Philippine Air Force received its second C-130 cargo plane as part of its capability enhancement program.
Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana and outgoing United States Ambassador to the Philippines Philip Goldberg led the turning over of the last C-130 cargo plane delivered by the US to the country.
The turnover ceremony was held at the 220th Air Lift Wing in Villamor Air Base in Pasay City on October 24, Monday.
This is the second and the last refurbished C-130 plane brought by the Philippines from the United States under the Excess Defense Articles Program.
Col. Antonio Z. Francisco, the director of the Public Information Office (PIO) of the Philippine Air Force, the C-130 T was delivered at the Brig. Gen. Benito N. Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu from Tucson, Arizona last October 9.
A total of P1.8 billion was paid by the Philippines to the United States for the two second-hand cargo planes.
