CATHOLIC CHURCH – Archbishop Oscar Cruz affirmed that the church is ready to provide asylum to Edgar Matobato as it has always done to whistle blowers.
A video posted by DZRH News Television entailed the willingness of the Catholic Church to provide shelter and protection to Edgar Matobato after speaking on his claims of being one of those behind the Davao squad of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
“Tawag diyan asylum at yan po ay ginagawa noon pang sinauna mga middle ages pa kapag ka may mga taong naaapi, hinahabol ng mga makapangyarihan… ang Simbahan po karaniwang binibigyan sila ng safety,” said Archbishop Cruz.
[That is called asylum and that is being done since before during the middle ages whenever there are people who are being discriminated or powerful ones run after them… the Church usually gives them safety.]
