Former MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino reserved his comments on Sen. Leila de Lima’s love affair because it is her birthday.
Former MMDA (Metropolitan Manila Development Authority) Chairman Francis Tolentino refused to give his reactions after his name was mentioned by President Rodrigo Duterte to have leaked the love affair between Senator Leila de Lima and an MMDA employee.
On Saturday, August 27, Tolentino reserved his comments regarding the issue in respect to De Lima’s 57th birthday.
Tolentino added that he would prefer to discuss issues on giving Pres. Duterte emergency powers to address traffic congestion and efforts on flood mitigation rather than talk about De Lima’s love affairs that has already gone showbiz (referring to the show business).
Duterte has announced in a press conference last week that it was Tolentino who divulged to him about De Lima’s love affair with a man named “Warren” who is a former MMDA security escort and is now part of her security team.
Warren is also said to be De Lima’s partner in a controversial video that leaked in the social media.
De Lima has repeatedly denied the accusations and confirmed that she has no boyfriend.
A mother of two, De Lima said that she has already promised her children that she would not remarry after her marriage with their father has been annulled.
But she confessed that having a steady partner in life is one of her two birthday whishes. The first is to have a ceasefire to what seems to have no end wordwar with the president.
“Wala po akong BF ngayon, sana mabigyan ako ng lovelife”.
With regards to Tolentino’s alleged ‘gossiping’ to Duterte, De Lima was quoted saying, “Tsismoso rin pala siya. These rumors are very malicious. I can imagine what Francis Tolentino must be going through now because it would be really awkward to admit or not if he is the source of the tsismis”.
