The driver of the Manila Police District (MPD) police van which rolled over the protesters in front of the United States embassy earlier this week has “good moral character”.
According to MPD director Senior Supt. Joel Coronel, the driver named Police
has a clean record as a policeman and in fact, has an outstanding behavior while in service and had no pending administrative or criminal charges.
“Based on our records and personal file, he’s of good moral character. He had outstanding behavior. He has no administrative or criminal cases so far”, said Manila Police District chief.
PO3 Kho was relieved from his post and placed under restrictive custody in the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City along with eight other police officers, including their ground commander at the rally, Police Senior Supt. Marcelino Pedrozo.
PO3 Kho became the point of interest and criticism being the driver of the police van and rolled over the protesters in front of the US embassy in Manila which led to a bloody dispersal.
The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemned the way the police dispersed the protesters, which was done by ramming of a police patrol van against the rallyists, leaving several individuals wounded.
The CPP called for an in-depth investigation, saying that the government should put to task the policemen behind the running of a police vehicle over the Anti-US protesters.

Several videos on the incident were later spread in the internet and social media where a footage shown a police officer pulling the hair of a lumad inside a jeepney during the dispersal.
When the officer noticed a person shooting the incident with his camera, he assaulted the videographer.
