Miss Universe Organization, has announced the final date and venue for the Prestigious pageant of 2017 in the Philippines.
In fact, the organization has recently revealed that the final date and venue of the pageant will be at the Mall of Asia Arena, January 30, 5:00 a.m.
Steve Harvey will be a returning host in the fast-approaching Miss Universe 2016. He will be co-hosting the beauty pageant with 2015 Miss Universe 2nd runner-up Olivia Jordan and Filipina model-TV personality Joey Mead King.
In a recent news report of Inquirer.net, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has no objection to the final decision of the MU organization to Harvey’s hosting of the Prestigious pageant in Manila in January, despite his earlier statement to the contrary.
Tourism Undersecretary Katherine de Castro confirmed that President Duterte welcome the TV host in the Philippines.
In a Press briefing in Malacañang, de Castro revealed that an encounter is being planned between the two by saying:
“I and Secretary Martin Andanar, we are planning a gimmick (pakulo) between the President and Steve Harvey. So wait for it. And the Miss Universe Organization is very much open to whatever it is that we are planning to do,” she said .
Furthermore, Andanar shared during the Press briefing that the organization presented their plans to the President. Duterte wants no road closures, no relocating the homeless, no swimsuit competition in Davao, as it has a ban in the City.
The Swimsuit competition of the Pageant would be held in Cebu.
De Castro also said the DOT would want Mr. Duterte to be a judge or to have special participation in Miss Universe 2017.
“Apparently it’s a rule for the Miss Universe Organization not to have a judge from the host country. But I think if it’s the President, that’s going to be another… I think they will make an exception to the rule,” de Castro said.
DOT Secretary revealed the final date and venue of Miss Universe pageant. This means that the Philippines is now ready for the Prestigious pageant.
The pressure is high for Maxine Medina Medina, the reigning Bb. Pilipinas Universe that will represent the Philippines in the prestigious pageant. As many Filipinos are praying for a back-to-back win at the most watched international pageant this year.
