LABOR DEPARTMENT – In the move to eradicate the contractualization scheme in the field of Philippine employment, the Department of Labor and Employment affirmed that penalties on endo-practicing companies and ways to detect red flags are not existent.
Putting an end to the contractual work scheme in the Philippines is one of the targets of the Duterte administration. Previous reports even hold that Pres. Rodrigo ‘Rody’ Duterte has warned company owners to stop it or he will shut down their companies.
The move to eradicate the contractualization in the field of employment will pave the way for stable jobs for Filipinos. This will no longer limit their admission to the job for five months only.
Further, due benefits will be received by the workers as they are no longer in a short-term contract making it not applicable for them before.
