Senator Miriam, now in ICU, was diagnosed as having a lung cancer and is getting weaker which prompted her to take a sick leave before her term in Senate ends.
Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago was rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of St. Luke’s Medical Center – Global City in Taguig because her condition has gone critical.
According to reports, the lady senator was brought to the ICU on September 3 because of her stage four lung cancer but only diclosed the information on September 10, Saturday.
Sen. Miriam was last confined at the ICU of the Makati Medical Center (MMC) on May 31 due to complications because of her exhaustive activities at the height of her presidential campaign. She ran with Ferdinand “Bong bong” Marcos Jr. as her vice-presidential candidate.
She lost to a friend, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, who had millions more in his vote counts.
She was diagnosed to have a lung cancer in 2014 but she later announced that she has a “magic pill” which can help her survive.
But “ang fighter ng Senado” (the Senate’s fighter) has later developed Anorexia as a side effect of her medication.
