Norway Denies Paying Ransom For Captive’s Release

The government of Norway expressed gratitude to the Philippine government for facilitating the release of their countrymen who was abducted in Davao.

The government of Norway expressed overflowing thanks to the government of the Philippines for the release of Kjartan Sekkingstad after ten months of being held captive by the bandit group, Abu Sayyaf (ASG).

Sekkingstad was abducted while visiting a resort in Samal island with Marites Flor, a Filipina, and two Canadians, John Ridsdel and Robert Hall, last November 2016.

Flor was freed last June while Hall and Ridsdel’s head were severed after failing to pay the demanded ransom.
