PH President Rodrigo Duterte caught the attention of the world as he recently announced that he wants US troops to leave his country.
The Japan trip was said to be the 6th foreign trip of the Philippine president.
Duterte’s visit is to talks on economic cooperation and investments, defense cooperation, and a commemoration of 60 years of diplomatic ties between the Philippines and Japan.
But according to a recent news report of Inquirer.net, During the president’s state visit to Japan, he announced that he wanted to free of the presence of US military troops.
“I have declared I will pursue an independent foreign policy. I want, maybe in the next two years, my country free of the presence of foreign military troops,” President Duterte said.
