In an interview, Barangay Councilor Elma Gaspin of Iriga City, first cousin of the lady senator, blames President Rodrigo Duterte and his allies to the continuing attacks against the Bicolana senator, especially against her femininity.
According to Gaspin, they wonder why the illegal drug trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) is being blamed to Sen. De Lima when she was the key to the discovery of the well-off living of the drug convicts inside the national penitentiary when she was the secretary of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The barangay councilor added that if it was true that De Lima was involved in illegal drugs, she could have been rich as of now.
Gaspin admitted that the tirades against her cousin and the controversies she (De Lima) is facing right now have hurt her and their family so much.
The appeal to the Filipino people, especially the netizens, not to dip into the issue especially when they do not even know the lady senator personally.
