US President Donald Trump took to Twitter and criticized China for taxing U.S. products and for its aggression in the South China Sea.
Trump air his reaction on social media criticizing Beijing over its monetary policy and territorial ambitions in disputed Asia waters.
US president-elect Donald slammed China in Twitter outburst and posted two tweets criticizing its monetary policy and a decision to build a military complex in the South China Sea.
“Did China ask us if it was OK to devalue their currency (making it hard for our companies to compete), heavily tax our products going into…their country (the U.S. doesn’t tax them) or to build a massive military complex in the middle of the South China Sea? I don’t think so!” Trump wrote in two separate tweets on Sunday evening.
In his tweets, Trump accused China of keeping their currency artificially low and for its alleged construction in the South China Sea.
The tweets were aired two days after his controversial phone call with Taiwan’s president that has overturned decades of diplomatic protocol.
According to a report of Philippine Star, Trump faced criticism for speaking with Taiwan’s president which said to be broke the longstanding U.S. policy on China and risks an international incident with the country.
The unusual move Of Trump on Twitter outburst along with his telephone call with the Taiwanese president has sent a negative impact to China.
China has reportedly blamed Taiwan for the call and lodged a diplomatic protest with the US by saying, “one China” policy was the bedrock of relations between China and the US.
Trump, who vowed during his campaign he would label China a currency manipulator and to renegotiate trade deals that have hurt U.S. jobs.
