One of the types of cancers that has several other sub-types is the Mesothelioma. This disease caused by the inhalation of asbestos fibers affects the linings of the lungs, the heart, and the abdomen.

Stage 1 – During this stage, the disease is confined on its original site. There are no metastases and the lymph nodes are free from the disease.
Stage 2 – Based on the article, it is during this stage that the cancer extends to the deeper surfaces and to either the diaphragm or the lung.
Stage 3 – At this stage, the disease has spread into the same side of the original site where it started. It may also include any of the following:
- Chest Wall
- Thoracic fascia
- Sac around the heart,
- Mediastinal fat
Stage 4 – Based on the article, at this stage, the cancer is too extensive for surgery and there
