Miracle HIV Cure
HIV Cure – The human immunodeficiency virus or HIV has been among the life-threatening health conditions ever known to man. Before, there is no cure for this condition but there came a time wherein a man has been cured of HIV.
Timothy Ray Brown, also known as “The Berlin Patient”, was the first person ever cured of HIV. According to an article by Fred Hutch, HIV has been diagnosed with the said health condition on 1995. Though Timothy has been using antiretroviral drugs to slow the effects of the condition for more than a decade, he was then diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia.
The doctors who have been looking after Brown considered using radiation and chemo to eliminate his immune system then rebuild it using stem cells from donors. What the doctors did is to pick a donor who was immune to the said heath condition.
According to the article, there were about one percent of Caucasians who has the gene mutation that initiates the immunity. In a more scientific term, the cells of these people do not have the CCR5 protein that allows the virus to enter the blo0d cells preventing it to spread all over the body.
Timothy has undergone two stem cell transplants that not only wiped out his canc3r, but also adopted the genetic variation to his whole body curing HIV.
Brown said that it is such an incredible feeling and he even compared what happened to a miracle.
Brown, who was born in Seattle, is the head of the Timothy Ray Brown Foundation.
HIV is a virus that attacks the attacks the immune system, making someone to be prone to infections and other health conditions. Another thing is that the virus eliminates the cells of the body constantly – for a lifetime.
