Reusable Water Bottles Worse Than Your Home Toilet Seat

Home Toilet Seat Safer to lick than Home Toilet Seat Reusable Water Bottles

Reusable Water bottles – Treadmill Reviews website asked the EmLab P&K to test 12 bottles that have been used by an athlete for a week without washing and found out that these reusable drinking bottles could be worse to health than licking the toilet seat of your home.

It is then found out that the average amount of bacteria found on these water bottles is more than 300,000 colony-forming units per square centimeter (CFU/sq cm).

So, that means, according to the findings, drinking on reusable water bottles can be many times WORSE than licking the toy of your dog.

Treadmill Reviews added that the part of the containers wherein the lips touch is where the most of the bacteria comes from at a staggering, over 900,000 per CFU/sq cm on average.

It is then followed by the squeeze top bottles with about 162,000 CFU/sq. cm, and the screw-top containers having below 160,000 CFU/sq. cm.

“While they are aren’t as bacteria-ridden as the slide-top lids, drinking from these bottles can still be worse than eating a meal from your pet’s dish or lapping up water from your kitchen sink,” as stated by Treadmill Reviews.

Now, the among the least bacteria-populated container is the straw-top bottles just having 25 CFU/sq. Cm, but, it somehow nears the average bacteria content in home toilets of about 27 CFU/sq. cm.

According to website, the probable reason why the straw-top containers have lesser CFUs is because, water drips to the bottom of the straw rather than sticking on the area.

Now, with the result of the testing, the website recommends the straw-top bottle but, it said that opting to a stainless steel container is a better choice than plastic containers.

It is also recommended to dish-wash or hand wash the drinking bottles after use to prevent bacteria from staying.
