Jim Paredes Reacts on Duterte’s Declaration of Martial Law in Mindanao


Veteran singer-songwriter Jim Paredes went to the micro-blogging site, Twitter where he expressed his sentiment over Martial Law declaration of President Rodrigo Duterte in Mindanao.

The 65-year-old musician relates the ongoing clash between the government force and the ISIS-backed Maute group in Marawi City on the Zamboanga siege in 2013.

“Me point si Jim, dahil kung tutuusin mga local police dapat ang rumesponde sa mga ganito pero nakakagulat na wala man lang sa news na merong police na rumesponde. Nakapagtataka lang na walang police force ang Marawi city. Kung halimbawang sa makati or isang city sa metro o Luzon nangyare ito e mga Pulis ang agad na aaksyon. Dahil wala itong kaibahan sa mga grupo ng mga holdaper na me matataas na kalibreng baril. Isa pa itong mga ito e me koneksyon sa mga pulis at militar intelligence dahil hindi ka sasakop ng isang siyudad kung alam mong wala kang lalabasan o safe passage tulad nung ke Pnoy against MNLF na hindi naman nahuli kahit concentrated lang din sa isang lugar,” a netizen commented.
