Flash Floods Greatly Affected France And Germany

Flash floods in Germany and France took away four people’s lives, June 2, Thursday.

Water levels reached as high as human’s waist during the flash flood, greatly affecting the countries France and Germany.

Heavy rains were present for the whole day and flooded many parts of Germany, France, and Austria. Roads are cut and several people were stranded on rooftops, schools shut, doors closed, as weather reporters warned the public of more of it to come.

There were three people trapped inside a house in Simbach am Inn, located south of Germany. Unfortunately, they were not able to survive.

Also, the policemen warned that others can be found on the ground floor.

One v1ctim is an old woman at the age of 86, found inside her house. located in Loing, France.

The 16th century Chateau of Chambord, in Loire Valley , a huge amount of water almost entered the structure.

French Open, the one and only tennis tournament without any exemption from the rain, though. One Spanish player, named David Ferrer, outburst  “I’ve been cheated!”

In Montargis, people were forced to wear boots just to walk through high levels of water into the streets.

In Baden-Wuerttemberg, four people didn’t survive the floods and around a dozen of people were injured.

Firefighters and other officials are dispatched to rescue and help out people.

Lower Bavaria police said: “The floods came so quickly that people had to escape to the roofs of their houses,”

In Triftern, twenty-five adults and fifty children were stranded in their schools last Wednesday.

PM Manuel Valls will be visiting Nemours, fifty miles of southern Paris, where the Loing rivers bursted with waters.

A shopworker in Nemours, Sylvette Gounaud, said: “In 60 years of living here I have never seen this,”

“The centre of town is totally under water, all the shops are destroyed.”

The heavy rainfall consistently poured out for three days.
