Duterte Comments On Public Works Secretary Villar Amid Corruption Allegations
DUTERTE COMMENTS ON VILLAR – Recently, Public Works Secretary Mark Villar has been connected to major alleged corruption issues within the DPWH.
However, according to the Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Villar still has the “full trust and confidence” of President Rodrigo Duterte. Yesterday, the President himself condemned the alleged corruption issues within the Department of Public Works and Highways.
But, Duterte did not disclose any specific details regarding the issue. Meanwhile, Roque stated that Duterte still believes in Villar saying that the Public Works Secretary “delivers” when it comes to his job.
Additionally, Roque jested that Villar couldn’t be involved in the corruption allegations since his family has more money than DPWH. Additionally, Roque said that Duterte may order a similar investigation to PhilHealth’s ongoing probe.

Meanwhile, during an interview with the state-run media network PTV, Villar said that he would turn Duterte’s statements about corruption into a challenge. He explained that he would make reforms within the DPWH to further tackle corruption in the department.
