Riding-in-Tandem Suspects Arrested for Pretending as Cops to Rob
Police authorities arrested the riding-in-tandem suspects after pretending to be cops to rob four minors in Quezon City.
Four young people were allegedly robbed outside a convenience shop by two people riding in tandem while pretending to be police officers, according to a report from Quezon City Police District Station 9. Police said the two suspects approached on a motorcycle as the minors were ready to enter the convenience shop.
The victims were barred from entering the store by the suspects. The two robbers even pose as police officers and warn the victims not to move because they are armed.
If they knew of anyone in the barangay who used illicit drugs, the victims were questioned. The suspects grabbed their telephones after a few inquiries to show they weren’t drug users.
According to the report, when the telephones were confiscated, they were once more threatened with being shot if they didn’t move. They successfully took the victims’ valuables, and then they sprinted away.
The victims contacted the police right away to report the incident. They mentioned Darwin Nieto, a holdup suspect, when they presented the rogue’s gallery. Nieto and his collaborator will face charges.
