About Kidapawan Clash, Police Not at Fault.
President Benigno Aquino III on Thursday, April 21, talked about the Kidapawan clash with the farmers of Kidapawan City earlier this month defending the police force in the incident.
Aquino mourned those who lost their lives in the clash however also extended his grief among police officers who have responsibility to pursue peace and order.
In the incident that happened on April 1, two protesters were killed and 116 were hurt including 93 policemen as the violent dispersal took place between 3, 000 farmers and the government forcers who were blocking the road.
President Aquino firmed that the police officers have no fault over the incident and that the suspected organizers who entice the famers of the Kidapawan City to unite and protest should be blamed.
According to the reports, two cops were under the critical condition.
Aquino described the clash from the video that the protesters rained stones against the policemen and that noted that someone from the protesters fired at them.
The police already filed charges against the farmers who were eventually detained. According to the reports, two weeks after the incident, 76 were released and 2 others set to post bail. However, two more farmers are missing and not in contact with the group.
While waiting for the senate probe, Aquino maintained that the police are not accountable on the incident.
The president speculated that there is a group behind the rally that enticed the farmers to join the big protest.
Earlier, Cotabato Governor Emmylou Talino Mendoza testified that there were a lot of non-locals joining in the crowd.
Aquino said that they intended to spark the rage among the farmers bringing them into a bloody encounter without thinking about the lives they compromised.
