AFP, ‘Will Not Follow The Command Of A Lunatic’ President
Along with their confirmation, the spokesperson of Armed Forces of the Philippines or AFP indicated yesterday in the hearing of committee on national defense of Commission on Appointment or COA that they will not follow the command of a “lunatic” president if case he ordered to shot the civilian.
In the hearing of committee on national defense of Commission on Appointments, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV gave a “hypothetical” question to AFP spokesperson Brig. Restituto Padilla to what will be the military action if case the president ordered to shot the civilian.
As an answer to the question of Trillanes, Padilla cited the situation way back People Power I where the combined power of the civilian and military ousted the former President Ferdinand Marcos.
According to Padilla, if the history repeats itself, the military will not shot even a single bullet.
In the report of philstar, Padilla is with 198 senior officers of AFP who escaped the power of CA. Even the CA members, none of them blocked the appointments of the officials.
Meanwhile, the 28 officials of Department of Foreign Affairs or DFA also escaped the CA.
