PAGASA Cited About The Alarming Heat Stress Brings Threat To The Philippines Because Of The Unnatural El Niño
Philippine Atmospheric, Geographical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) gave warned regarding the unnatural heat of the climate because of the consistent El Niño event. Alarming heat stress is “highly probable” in this kind of season.
PAGASA Acting Administrator Dr. Vicente Malano said regarding the observation that has been cited recently, the prevailing air temperature in numerous place in the country is in the “above average with high relative humidity.”
More than 1.5 degrees Celsius of the average maximum air temperature has been recorded in some stations which are higher than a normal temperature. Particularly in General Santos City which often has a record of 3.0 degrees Celsius has the higher temperature than the average maximum air temperature.
This year, the highest record of temperature in PAGASA-Isabela State University Station in Echague, Isabela this April 14 is 39.6 degrees Celsius. Last year the highest temperature of 39.2 degrees Celsius reached in Tuguegarao City.

“This day-to-day weather will likely prevail in the coming days. Consequently, heat-related illnesses like heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat strokes to some people, may rise and become a great health concern,” said Manalo.
