Australia Congratulates Duterte For Presidency
Australia to Duterte: If ever you can still remember, not too long ago when candidate for president at that time and now presumptive president of the republic of the Philippines Rodrigo “Rody” Duterte told Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Amanda Gorely to shut her mouth with regards to the rude “joke” of Duterte about the issue of Australian missionary who was been rap3d in a Davao prison riot. Duterte also said that he was prepared to cut ties between two giant countries USA and Australia.
And because of his fearless statement, Duterte has been heard internationally. Many major media and news organizations featured Duterte including CNN, BCC, Washington Post, N-TV and any other popular organizations around the world, receiving negative feedbacks.
Yesterday, May 20, 2016, Australia congratulated Presumptive President Mayor Rodrigo Duterte on his election.
In a statement, Australia Foreign Ministry said, “Australia looks forward to working with the new administration and anticipates the gains of recent years can be sustained and built upon.”
He also added, “Australia looks forward to continue working with the new Philippine government to further develop our enduring bilateral relationship and address shared regional and global challenges.”
This binds the two countries to share similar values and interest including a commitment to democracy, peace, security and economic growth.
In 2015, Philippines and Australia have signed a comprehensive Partnership to deepen cooperation to advance the same interests in trade development and security.
