The county’s most prominent business leaders showed their support for Duterte’s economic agenda to achieve a common goal of growing the economy. The goal of the President is to uplift the economy which would trickle down to the poorest of the poor. For the past few years, the previous administrations claimed that the economy grew but never felt by the poor.
Under President Rody Duterte’s leadership, business leaders will worked hand in hand with the national government to let the poorest of the poor experience the said improvement in the national economy.
Some of the most prominent businessmen who promised to help the Duterte admin includes businessman Manuel V. Pangilinan, together with shipping heiress Doris Magsaysay-Ho and Asian Institute of Management (AIM) founder Washington Sycip.
The elite members of the business community, yesterday expressed support for Duterte and his 10-point socioeconomic agenda. During a forum dubbed “Aim for Change” at AIM, businessman Manny Pangilinan was quoted as saying “The business sector will definitely work with the new government and its 10-point agenda. There’s a positive energy in working with the incoming administration,” Pangilinan said.
Manny Pangilina is a known business leaders and sportsman, he is the chairman of the MVP Group of Companies. He vouched for the development of agriculture and tourism, saying these are the keys to decongesting Metro Manila and addressing poverty. He added further that Duterte’s focus on agriculture is the right direction, considering that 40 percent of people in the countryside are poor.
