Palparan, the Butcher, Has Something to Say to Duterte.
Butcher Vs Punisher. The Butcher of Southern Luzon and the now detained retired Major General Jovito Palparan has lambasted the Mindanao’s Punisher, an irony that has risen days before the elections.
The manhunt for Palparan lasted for almost three years before he was finally put in jail. Now, 65 years old, he is running for a senatorial seat but being held without bail for kidnapping students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeno while denying the charges against him.
Same as to what others claimed that presidential aspirant Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is behind the Davao Death Squad to which some referred to us the vigilante group that targets criminals in the city.
However having the seeming comparison as what others call to, Duterte earlier hit Palparan as the “pathetic former army general who sees things red because of his bloodshot eyes.”
But for Palparan, Duterte “stands for nothing” and “likes to be adored” adding that the mayor does not have principles.
Behind Duterte’s strongman image, the Butcher is not convinced.
“I knew it, he’s just trying to be cool,” he said.
He added that Duterte only wants to kill the criminals to be cool.
“I wasn’t going to speak. I wasn’t going to ask. The problem is I don’t want to be silent anymore. I know this-I’m also a law enforcer just like him, so nobody can say I don’t know the truth.” Palaparan added.
Palaparan even hits Duterte’s supporters saying they don’t know him.
“He created his own image, his own persona. He’s a coward. He befriends people who have power,” he said referring to Duterte’s statement of coddling the New People’s Army.
He referred to the NPAs as terrorists adding that Duterte doesn’t make use of them but instead befriending them as well as the army.
Duterte earlier explained that he embrace Filipinos of all colors to which the Communist Party of the Philippines hailed to declare ceasefire if he becomes president.
Palparan also hit the Mayor’s claim of Davao City as a model for anti-crime or anti-drugs.
“It’s not a model, it’s just a story, it’s just propaganda, it’s just promoting ego of the mayor but people don’t know that.” he said.
No, the man who became the face of extrajudicial killings during Arroyo’s administration is the one calling out for the danger under a Duterte’s regime.
“Mayor, if you become president, my hope is that you will stand by your claim of fearlessness, because that claim of fearlessness is fake. That’s fake bravery. It’s not bravery when you don’t go after people in the lowest elements-whether they’re Ampatuans or MILF or NPA. You should have done that before, but now you’re going to be president because you’re successful in promoting yourself.” he said.

However, Palparan himself has some advice for Duterte adding he should defend the Constitution even encouraging him to get the people to his side to believe in the Constitution.
He hoped that Duterte who may not be desirable as president but become desirable for the sake of good governance.
He called that Mayor that if he needs him, he will be there and if he won’t, he wouldn’t volunteer unless he would ask sincerely.
