Filipino gymnastics star Carlos Yulo once again proved his excellence on the international stage after securing the bronze medal in the men’s all-around event at the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics Asian Championships, held this week in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

Yulo posted an impressive total score of 83.633, showcasing consistency and skill across all apparatuses. This performance earned him a podium finish, reaffirming his status as one of Asia’s top male gymnasts.
Leading the event was Japan’s Oka Shinnosuke, who claimed the gold with a commanding score of 85.134. Fellow Japanese gymnast Hasegawa Tsuyoshi secured the silver medal with a score of 83.967, narrowly edging out Yulo for second place.
Despite falling short of the top two spots, Yulo’s bronze is a significant achievement, especially considering the high level of competition. The 24-year-old gymnast showed strong routines on the floor exercise and vault, two of his signature events, helping him stay competitive against the dominant Japanese contingent.
This marks another milestone in Yulo’s already decorated career, which includes world championship titles and multiple Southeast Asian Games gold medals. His latest podium finish adds to his momentum as he prepares for upcoming international competitions, including the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships and potentially the 2026 Asian Games.
Gymnastics experts praised Yulo for his composure and technical precision under pressure. “Carlos continues to evolve as an all-around athlete. He’s no longer just a floor and vault specialist—he’s proving he can compete in all six apparatuses,” said Philippine Gymnastics Association official Geraldine Morales.
The bronze medal also bodes well for the Philippines’ medal hopes in future competitions. As Yulo continues to train in Japan under coach Munehiro Kugimiya, fans are hopeful that he will reach new heights and further elevate Philippine gymnastics on the world stage.
With this latest win, Carlos Yulo remains one of the Philippines’ brightest hopes in sports, inspiring a new generation of athletes to pursue excellence in gymnastics.
