Police Arrest Cigarette Vendor for Allegedly Selling Illegal Drugs in EDSA
Police authorities arrested a cigarette vendor after allegedly being caught selling illegal drugs along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA).
Authorities nabbed a cigarette dealer under the footbridge in Ermin Garcia Ave in Quezon City, according to an ABS-CBN news report. The cops purportedly received a tip regarding the vendor’s illicit conduct beneath the bridge.
As a result, police officers initiated a buy-bust operation to apprehend the offender right away. According to investigators, the 59-year-old vendor hides the illegal substances in water bottles or smoke packs.
The suspect has also acknowledged making a mistake and admitting selling drugs for three months. The vendor explained that he engaged in illegal drug distribution to support his family’s financial needs.
Police said that he is making P800 on a P1,500 investments. “Pangangailangan lang po ng mga anak ko, nag-aaral po sila siyempre kailangan ng pang-allowance nila,” the drug suspect said.
The drug suspect stated that he is willing to face prosecution and accept responsibility for his actions. Further investigations will be launched to find the source of illegal narcotics.
