Cristina Romualdez apologized for her daughter’s insensitive tweet vs. Leni Robredo.

The newly-elected mayor of Tacloban City Cristina Romualdez has apologized for her daughter’s controversial tweet against the vice presidential bet of Liberal Party Leni Robredo.

Recently, her daughter Sofia posted an insensitive Tweet, saying: “p*****i*a leni b*b* naman yan walang alam yan t*****a nyo.”

The actress-turned-politician is the wife of outgoing mayor Alfredo Romualdez, the nephew of Imelda Marcos. His husband is the cousin of Bongbong Marcos, who is currently in a tough battle with Robredo in the vice presidential seat.

Yesterday, Cristina Romualdez took her Facebook account to made a public apology regarding his daughter’s Twitter post.

She said that she doesn’t approve the words she used against Robredo and she is apologizing in behalf of her daughter.

“In behalf of my daughter Sofia, I apologize for such words she tweeted about Leni. As a mother and most especially as a Christian I do not approve of such words. She is very apologetic and is learning,” she said.

Cristina Romualdez explained that her daughter is still young and she is not aware of what she is saying. She added that Robredo does not deserve such words.

Furthermore, Romualdez appealed to the people to forgive her daughter and asked for their understanding.

“Sofia already apologized, so I hope we all forgive and lover her. She is still very young,” she said.

In the partial and unofficial vote counts, Leni Robredo is still leading by more than 200,000 words. There is no exact date yet when will the counting will end as votes are still being transmitted.
