P8 Trillion To Be Spent By Government For Infrastructure Projects
The Duterte administration intends to improve the infrastructure projects in the country by spending P8 trillion in the next five years.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said that the current administration aims to enhance the infrastructure in the Philippines as the Cabinet members called on Congress to grant emergency powers to President Duterte on transportation projects.
Cabinet members presented the planned infrastructure program by the administration to address the traffic issues in the country and also for development purposes. Tugade also said that improvement of airports, bridges, railways and new roads projects will be delayed without the emergency powers.
Negotiation for materials, services for project construction, direct contracting, and authority to conduct selective bidding are the privilege that can be acquired by the president if the emergency powers will be granted to address transportation problems.
