Facebook launches its first office in the Philippines.
The world’s largest social media site Facebook launches its first office in the Philippines. Founded by Mark Zuckerburg, the social network giant will open its home in the country’s capital, Manila.
Facebook Vice President for Asia Pacific Dan Neary said during a program in Makati City that the Philippines has a big potential for business as it is one of the leading countries in Facebook global metrics.
“We recently did a survey in the Philippines and again just to reaffirm how vibrant the Facebook community here is not just for individuals but for companies here as well,” he was quoted by Inquirer.
According to Neary, many people are using Facebook and it paves way for the discovery of new business products and brands. He said that Facebook will help business owners to achieve their goals.
He added that Facebook will not only keep the users connected, but it will also help small and big companies promote their business.
In his Facebook page, Neary said that more than 49 Filipinos are using Facebook which is over 91 percent of internet population.
Digs Dimagiba, who recently served as mobile business director for Samsung electronics in the Philippines, will head the office of Facebook in the Philippines.
“I’m excited to lead the dynamic Facebook team in Manila and to help our partners innovate and achieve their business goals,” he said.
As part of the opening Facebook will also hire people who are qualified and willing to work in their office.
