A family of four members slain at their home in Purok 1, Sitio Gapas Gapas, Barangay San Pedro, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur, Philippines last Friday, September 20.
The victims of the said incident were identified by Cantilan police chief Captain Ferdinand Tavares as: Rogelio Ravelo, Alfonsita, Rogelio Jr., and CJ.
Rogelio Ravelo is an overseas Filipino worker and is 35 years of age. His wife, Alfonsita Ravelo, is a teacher and is 39 years of age.Rogelio and Alfonsita had two sons named Rogelio Jr., nine years of age; and CJ, three years of age.
Police said Alex Roales, a brother of Alfonsita Ravelo, allegedly killed the victims while they were sleeping. Roales was arrested in a follow-up operation and the suspect is said to be suffering from depression.
Probers are watching closely at a land dispute as to the motive for the killing of these family of four members. The suspect is already being held at a police lockup and preparing to file charges against him.
