Firearms Deal With United States Still Considered By Duterte

The President is not closing the doors for the United States because he will consider continuing the firearms deal if the AFP will recommend so.

President Rodrigo Duterte still considers continuing the procurement of firearms, weapons and defense equipment from the United States of America, if the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) recommends so.

Continuing to acquire weapons from the Philippines’ seven-decades-old treaty ally is still a consideration for the Duterte administration, despite offers from China and Russia.

Duterte made the remark after breaking his vow to God that he would not cuss against the United States or resort to trash talking again.
