NBI Was Ordered By The President To Focus On Graft And Corruption
President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to focus on graft and corruption in the government.
Regarding the alleged practice of corruption by Customs officials inside the Bureau of Customs (BOC), the president wants the NBI to focus on corruption for the meantime. He also warned NBI member to stop their involvement in illegal drugs and corrupt practices.
During the presidential campaign of Rodrigo Duterte, he already announces that he will abolish corruption and illegal drugs in the country. He already ordered the dismissal of Customs official and Makati police that were allegedly practicing corruption and involved in illegal drugs.
According to Senior Superintendent Rommil Mitra, Makati police chief the alleged police officer have not yet identified. Mitra said that the investigation over the alleged extortionist cop will be initiated by National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director, Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde.
