Duterte’s Presidential Campaign Funded By Imee Marcos?
Did Imee Marcos funded the presidential bid of Rodrigo Duterte? According to SOCE Marcos does not belong to list among Rody’s contributors.
Duterte said that Imee helped to fund his presidential campaign on 2016 elections. His campaign was fueled by Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos who borrowed money to help Rody.
But Marcos does not included to the list of Rodrigo’s contributors according to Duterte’s Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE). Commission on Elections (Comelec) said that failing to file the SOCE will face corresponding penalties.
The candidates who fail to file their SOCE will have penalties ranging P1 000 to P30, 000. SOCE is a necessary requirements for the Comelec for it is the one used to monitor the total amount cost by a candidate during the campaign and to identify its donors.
