Neck to neck. This is how election experts describe the Vice-presidential boxing between LP candidate Leni Robredo of Camarines Sur and Senator Bonbong Marcos as the two vie for the second highest position in the country.
While Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is showing a significant lead in the presidential elections, it seemed that the battle between Robredo and Marcos is not yet over.
As of posting, Robredo maintained the lead with unofficially tally of 13, 286, 862 votes inching from Marcos with 13, 2014, 862 votes.
In the last night’s unofficial tally, Marcos led the votes the time that Camarines have not yet transmitted the votes. It was only later that Robredo inched Marcos with the little lead.
Both who have strength in votes, Marcos for the Solid North and Robredo with the Camarines, have split through the rest of the regions.
Robredo herself earlier joined her online supporters in refusing to give up given the numbers in the partial and unofficial tally of votes.
The #LabanLeni trended earlier with the supports from netizens hoping that Robredo will eventually claim the Vice Presidential seat over Marcos.
In her earlier statement, Robredo was confident claiming that in the end she will win and that the Filipinos prefer her to be the next Vice President.
However she noted that the counting is not yet over and encouraged supporters to continue waiting and guarding.
While some are counting into the difference of votes between the two, the online supporters are holding a vigil pushing the #LabanLeni to show their support as it became the trending on Twitter.
Robredo earlier said that she is willing to support if ever elected as Vice President to Duterte however firmed that she will fight for the human rights.
Marcos in the other hands, said he is monitoring the results.
