Leila De Lima Says, ‘Endo’ Needs To Discontinue Due To Violating The Labor Law

Endo Must Be Ended Due To It’s Obvious Violation To The Labor Law, Says Leila De Lima

Liberal Party Senatorial bet Leila De Lima calls for a discontinuation of ‘Endo’ or contractual employment of the laborers list due to its obvious violation to the labor law.

She said that the labor law must be reserved for the country to have a proper and better trend in employment.

“The United Nations states that everyone is entitled to employment and protection from unemployment. I believe that legislation must be passed to punish contractual labor as a criminal offense. It deprives the people of the right to live decently,” said De Lima.

According to her, she wanted to make a law if ever she will be nominated as a senator in this halalan.

She added that the Labor Law must be revisited so that amendments can be introduced to make it more responsive to the times. Everyone should take note of how other institutions do businesslike drivers who are still working on a commission basis, employees who are exposed to more than 12 hours work, due to field work. Even the employment with a white collar, such as jobs in the BPO sector has also a health risk. De Lima says, this should be fixed.

According to the balita.net, the former secretary of Department of Justice said, in order to have a right justice, job security and increasing the livelihood level of millions of Filipino workers in the country should be promoted.
