In an interview with the press and ANC, Atty. Panelo said that the Ayala-owned bank verbally told him that Duterte have not P211 million on his accounts at the branch.

“BPI verbally told me that Duterte accounts do not have P211M at anytime,” he was quoted saying.

Atty. Panelo was authorized by Duterte to open his bank accounts and release a certification that Duterte never amassed P211 million.

According to him, the bank accepted the special power of attorney and request to issue the certification, but they requested for seven days to issue the request.

“Tinanggap ng bangko ang SPA & request to issue certification pero humingi sila ng panahon para pag-aralan ‘yung request,” he said.

The Attyy. Panelo added that if the BPI will deny their request to issue the certification, they will file a suit against them.

Meanwhile, in an interview with GMA 7’s “News To Go,” Duterte’s lawyer also said that he dared Senator Trillanes to issue a sworn statement if he believes that his proofs are true.

“Ayaw niyang maglagda ng isang sinumpaang salaysay dahil puwedeng siyang idemanda,” he said.

Aside from the alleged hidden wealth, Senator Trillanes also claimed that Duterte and his family has 41 properties across the country.
