The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced Monday, June 30, 2025, that the low-pressure area (LPA) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has a “medium” chance of intensifying into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.

As of 3:00 p.m., the LPA was spotted 920 kilometers east of Central Luzon. While it remains relatively far from landmass, its trough is already influencing weather conditions in parts of Luzon.
According to PAGASA’s 4:00 p.m. weather bulletin, the trough of the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon. The state weather bureau also warned that these rains could become moderate to heavy at times, potentially causing flash floods and landslides in areas prone to flooding.
Meanwhile, the prevailing Southwest Monsoon, also known as “Habagat,” continues to affect large parts of the country. Metro Manila, the Visayas, Mindanao, MIMAROPA, as well as the remaining areas of Central Luzon and CALABARZON, are expected to experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.
Localized thunderstorms will persist over the rest of Luzon, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers. PAGASA cautioned that some thunderstorms may become severe, posing threats of flash floods and landslides.
Across the country, winds are forecast to be light to moderate, and coastal waters will remain slight to moderate, making sea travel generally safe for small vessels.
